If a customer from this afternoon is to be believed, that part is called the "compressor."

No, no, she meant "compressor." She said it was noisy.

I was so very tempted to tell her to check the hoses.

Is that after looking things over, you agreee, it IS a noisy compressor, but the compressor isn't the unit she brought in.

Tell her she'll need to go back and get the unit that sits next to her house, with the big fan on top and the fins all around it. That's the compressor.
