I had one costomer today who wanted to see about getting his PS3 online. He knew he could get online on his pc, but no clue what sort of connection it was. He first was thinking his vantige box was his internet connection. After about a minumum of ten minutes we where able to fingure out that he had a cable modem. How could you not know what you use to get online? I seemed to further confuse him when I suggested he may want to get a router to get both his pc and PS3 online at the same time. I was not sure wat confused him more, what a router is or how it works. I swear this dude was on crack!

Filk again

We tech those beige machines, all rolled out through the intranet
Blue screens and backgrounds and no logons validated yet
Give us this day our daily coffee, asprin, alcohol
To dull the pain that ever-grates on our immortal soul

Now we're gonna get the big bossman
Now we're gonna get our ass chewed out
Ev'rybody hates the mandat'ry meetings

Who remembers where it all began
Out there, in network land
Before they pooched the master plan
Out there, in network land
Low IQ, and cracked demands
On the cor'prate LAN
(On the cor'prate LAN)

There's too much work each day, in answering those stupid calls
"My screen is off", "my printer's empty", echo down the halls
Reloading paper and reminding them to switch things on
And half are calls are for some other team that's dead and gone

Never gonna get the whole story
Never gonna have enough time
Ev'rybody hates the fools in the boardroom

Who remembers where it all began
Out there, in network land
Amid the screaming of the cooling fans
Out there, in network land
Low IQ, and cracked demands
On the cor'prate LAN
(On the cor'prate LAN)

I hear the callers, mewling "Password - I forgot again"
God help us all, they get their worldviews straight from CNN
They roll the software out, at night the updates clog the lines
Thanks to the zombie nets, the patches come back half-declined

Now we're gonna get the fried circuits
Now we're gonna get the cracked portals
Now the policies are propagandized
Just another day of major distractions

Who remembers where it all began
Out there, in network land
Before the lockouts and the user bans
Out there, in network land
Before the intranet had virus scans
Out there, in network land
Low IQ, and cracked demands
On the cor'prate LAN
(On the cor'prate LAN)

I did a tech job recently, and i keep getting called about how their internet is now being slow and shitty, and how it wont pull up some of her web pages at work.

Low and behold she's using IE8

When I exclaimly ask her "Why?!" when she has firefox open as well, she tells me that her friend asked her to install it to see something cool.

When I ask if I can at least roll back to IE7, since her websites clearly state that they can't work with 8, she says she doesn't want to. Really now, what does IE8 have to offer that's so important? It's still in Beta!

I just got bitched out by her boss last night, in a tone of "We don't want you here" because "Her internet is slow, but mine is fine". I tried explaining it to him again, that she is only having problems using IE8 but has no problems using Firefox, and that he is using IE7.

Damn them.

Damn them all to hell.
