how in the world do users think they can get away with illegal practices? i have a user who 1 - insists we must give him a copy of XP Pro so he can reformat his ancient, slow-as-molasses laptop, and 2 - wants to know how to rip DVDs to put them on his iPod.
first of all, this is a PERSONAL laptop. he knows we don't touch personal laptops. he's known this for a year. he keeps trying to circumvent me to get what he wants, and ends up dealing with me anyway because my manager backs me up. he's driving me up a fucking WALL with his weekly calls about his wireless dying on him (sorry, personal computer, no touchy), about how slow his computer is (again, personal computer...that's likely 6 years old), and about how we won't help him with his iPod (unsupported hardware, again, NO TOUCHY!). the sad thing is, this person is a doctor...so he's gotta have at least a shred of intelligence when it comes to being told no over and bloody over!
guh. i think he's going to drive me insane.
