The dead have risen

And they are still calling technical support :(

Honestly with the whole undead, moaning, the groaning and the eating of brains thing I really haven't noticed a difference in average luser intelligence levels. They do have a preference for windows though.

Only bad thing will be getting home. Anyone want to fedex me a chainsaw?

Just joined recently, thought I'd add this, as I just got off the phone with a clearly very competent user...
As a bit of background, I work as a network consultant for a small company in the city of Chicago. We specially in supporting small businesses (<100 users, for the most part) that don't want to pay for a full time IT support person.

Office manager at a law firm we support called to say that user Ra had not received any mail from user Ru since yesterday. I logged into their server remotely and checked the message tracking system, which showed that the messages had been sent and received at the times claimed. I contacted Ra to let her know that I'd be logging into her computer, which would lock her out while I worked. I then started logging in using her username and password... and got a warning that user Ab was logged in, and would be disconnected.

Turns out that Ra had come in this morning and sat down at her desk, not even thinking about the fact that she was already logged in. She shares the workstation with another user, and he'd left himself logged in overnight. Oddly enough, she wasn't receiving any of her mail because they use Outlook and Exchange, and the mail profile is linked to the user profile.

Do NOT buy:

HP Laserjet 3052, HP Laserjet 3055, HP Laserjet 3352, HP Laserjet 3390

These are now effectively WinPrinters, as HP has decided to save a few pennies and put 4 meg roms in these instead of 8 meg roms.. To make room for that, they removed all the PCL5 fonts except for Line, and Courier.

Their suggestion to fix it is turn on the option to upload fonts before printing, effectively turning this piece of crap into a WinPrinter. This breaks any existing forms you might be printing from a non-windows machine, as now you have to program in a font upload.

Also, be very wary of any recent lower end Laserjet's as they might not have proper PCL 5 support.
