Yeah, I just became one of Them

About six weeks ago, my 21" CRT popped. Made a noise, went dark. Couldn't get it to come back up. Reseated everything, reset everything, no dice. So I grabbed the backup CRT, and a week later IT popped. Figure it's the hardware on my lappy, I'll just go without.

Not 20 minutes ago, tech comes in, sees my two dead monitors, asks if he can have them. Sure, whatever, I can't make them work

He comes back in 5 minutes ago, says "Yeah, they work GREAT when you set the Input back to one"

I have been well and truly pwnt.

Five hours of my life that I will never get back!
A new hotel is going up in town. We're contracted to handle the network. We got to mark on the floor plans where exactly the drop points for the wireless access points should be in the ceilings. We're installing snazzy power over ethernet access points.
First problem. The electricians terminated each floor into a patch panel on that floor, then dropped one cat6 cable down. You can't push POE through this.
Second problem. The electricians didn't terminate the drop points. They left bare wire.
I spent five hours yesterday and today finding the coils of wire and terminating them in RJ-45s.

Today, the first problem was discussed and resolved. As patching everything down to terminate on the first floor would cause signal loss and power fluctuations, they are going to yank all the wires and rerun everything to terminate in the first floor server room.

Damn it. I wish they had decided this yesterday so I could have saved my time and done something else!
