I: Okay, could you please remove the ethernet cable from the back of your computer and then plug it back in?
She: Is that safe? I won't get electrocuted, will I?
I: It's perfectly safe. The voltage that goes through one of those couldn't hurt a mouse.
She: Okay.
(pause)
She: Last time I phoned you guys, you told me to take the cable and switch ends, like plug it in backwards.
I: That was probably just to-
She: And then when I had my computer tech over, I told him and he said he's amazed I didn't fry my whole computer doing that.
I: You can't actually fry your hardware by unplugging an ethernet cable. They're completely hot-pluggable.
She: And he told me it was dangerous and I could get electrocuted.
I: But ethernet works at about 5 vo-
She: You don't know what you're talking about.
