A recent log, copied directly from my notes on the account. Broadband customers are told when they sign up that should they miss a payment we redivert them via a HTTP request to a reminder page, to which they have to acknowledge their account is overdue before we allow them to access the rest of the internet. This is standard practise for our ISP, on both dial-up and DSL. Also note, he had called around 2am, some 3 hours after both our helpdesk and accounts desk had closed, so as a graveyarder I wore my Accounts cap and took the call.

I just had a stupid cable repair call. this guy says his remote won't change channels. It's happened a few
times at night. He says it is not the batteries, and he doesn't think it is the remote either. Yes, he can not change the cable channel with his remote, but he does not think he has a problem with his remote.

So, I ask him when we could come look at it. He doesn't want us to come. He "just wants us to know that in case there is anything we can think of to do"

You won't let us give you a new remote. Nor will you let us try to program the remote you have. Plus, you will not be home so someone to check the cablebox. But I am supposed to fix it?

Should I wave my magic wand now?

For all you ISP support peeps :
Symptoms : Cannot browse to antivirus sites, window closes.
Cannot search for antivirus products, window closes.
Cannot access Processes window in task manager, it comes up blank.
Cannot access msconfig.
Cannot access regedit.
Cannot access SP2 firewall or security settings.

UNBELIEVABLE

I severely dislike this company that took us over and most of the people that work in it. Here's three examples of why. Here's one from today and one from Friday and one from a while ago (not sure when)

Only 49 more days until November 30th and I get my severance package. I gotta keep my eye on the prize.

Another good thing is it appears that demand for PC Tech/Helpdesk people in the Chicago area is increasing because I've been getting a fair amount of calls about my resume on Monster.com. Anyone have any suggestions for other places to post my resume up? I want to try to get into another job right away when my end date comes up.
