One of the few "Holy Grails" of tech support is the ever coveted Project. This is time when you are pulled off of the phone/e-mail queues and assigned work. It doesn't matter if it is licking Satan's balls, you'll HAPPILY do it because you are off of the phone. I spent three grueling days on this project. My supervisor returns from his vacation tonight and says "I Love what you've done with the project, now go back over it and do exactly what you did, but COMPLETELY differently" - I would MUCH rather be on the phone with ID10Ts. Argh. At this point I would enjoy licking Satan's balls.

Date: 2004-05-18 04:27 pm (UTC)I was off the phones on project status for well over a year. When I left project status, it was because of a promotion.
Obviously, this earned me quite a bit of jealousy. But I had plenty of experiences like the one you outline. The non-project folks didn't get that part of it.
