I've spoken to 3 people tonight:

1) Error 691. Username/password error. Retype and re-try. Everything works.
2) Client whose computer has been hacked. 45 minutes of explaining and calming tones later, I get off the phone.
3) Some guy in the Netherlands, trying to run a conference and receive things via our "travelling" dial-up connection. The problem, the phone number is only 9 digits and phone numbers there are 10 digits. Can't find a different number anywhere. Wrote a ticket, but I don't think anyone will respond till tomorrow. I hope he doesn't call back.

What happened to all the people with the problems like the first guy?

My boss has 28000 e-mails in his inbox. Yes, just the inbox.

He asked me today "Why is it running... a little slow ?"

Can anyone here beat this number ?

(So I shat in his filing cabinet and left it at that)

Dots...

Was just on a call, fixing some guys OE.

Ever noticed how they never read the POP & SMTP servers properly?

Me : What does it say next to incoming mail?
Cust : popispnamecomau
Me : So there's no dots there?
Cust : Oh.. uh.. yeah... it's pop.ispname.com.au

[guy next to me is listening in]

Me : Ok, I always need you to read those how they appear, because the dots are the most important thing on the internet...

The guy sitting next to me just cracks up and has to put his moron on hold.

Sometimes I love this job.
