So me in my infinite wisdom (yes start laughing now) thought I would be so cool as to reload the main house computer. Tried the "recovery disk" that was sent with the computer and it could format but not recover fully. So I thought I'd try the XP, all worked but modem drivers. So I reformatted the pc again and then just ran a recovery no problemo. Except this one HUGE one.
Windows 98 Second edition, no product key. Wait I just got a brain, nope damn. Ok I thought I'd snag a product key off this machine but it will not take. Then I see this keyboard helper, click that and this is the list of letters and numbers I suppose I can use on this machine.

So does anyone have a win98 2nd edition product key that may work with this? or I have heard lately you can find them on the web.
Much appreciated if you can help. Gawd, take away my techie card now. I should have written this down the first time. I could have sworn I had it.

Say it's a Hewlett Packard. That generic COA that takes 3 clicks to look up is going to cost you 40 bucks.
Just try googling "Generic COA windows 98" and see what comes up.
