Passes bottle.

At least you didn't have to do lengthy diagnostics.

very true. and Questional Content! yay!!

stupid true story: my dad was in the navy. the ship crossed the international dateline and so lost one day. his birthday. so he claims to be a year younger than he actually is because of that. dorktastic. so i told him it coulda been worse, he coulda had feb 29 as his birthday. yep, we're pretty malicious in my family... ;)

I love it when I check one of our zone files out of our source control program and find that some retard has defined localhost in a zone file. Yes. localhost IN A 127.0.0.1 has shown up in our zone files more than once. My first response was to take DNS edit prov's away from everyone, and start adding people back one at a time slowly. I still haven't found the guy yet, but when I do, I have a LART at my desk in reserve just for him...

That is a thing of beauty. Right up there with the users blocking themselves.

*eyeroll*

And one of my pet peeves is when some moron tries to send mail from a host called X.x.local. Sorry, I only accept mail from VALID hosts, and anything .local does not count!

At least six times this year I've had to deal with servers that have been sending mail as localhost.localdomain (the Sendmail default, which we don't normally configure because the systems SHOULDN'T BE SENDING MAIL) and got the client's external IP address on a blacklist.

Personally, I think blocking the IP based on that is obnoxious, but so is using localhost.localdomain.
