BOSTON, Massachusetts (Reuters) -- Licensed mental health professionals are steamed up over a Maine entrepreneur who charges angry people $1.99 a minute to listen to them rant and rave over the telephone.

Mental health professionals are upset because for the people who just need a place to vent, they are losing lots of money at 150 - 300 $ per hour vs. 120$ per hour. oh well.

I doubt there's much they can do to stop him. He's not offering any kind of professional help, he just sits there and listens.

He could even just put in a recording "mm hmm mm hmm OH THAT'S TERRIBLE" and most people would never know the difference.

I need to start one of those lines for the Chicago area. I listen to people vent all the time and I don't get paid 1.99 a minute!
