Yes, but knowing you, wouldn't you potentially set yourself on fire anyway? If you do this, make sure to record it all on video. Including the parts where you're punching yourself in the head to put the fire out, and eventually spraying the fire extinguisher in your own face.

Not sure how much of a crater that'd make. I do remember mistakenly connecting a LED to a 9v battery. It sizzled for a few seconds, and then half of it bounced off the ceiling.

Reminds me of summer before last. Lightning hit my parents house and everything electronic that was plugged in had to be either replaced or repaired if it wasn't on a surge protector. The surge protectors fried, but hey, they did their job.

reminds me of a quantum fireball hard drive that lived up to it's name. an IC on the controller board made a lovely high pitched whine sound, and then went pop and let some smoke out. looked a lot like this photo, with a crater where I suspect very key circuits once were.
