callers to please, pretty-pretty please, with cream & sugar on top, to take me off of speaker phone!

Also, other people who don't normally work the phones and/or this specific issue. IMHO, clearing out temp files when someone is having an issue viewing any web page should be just whatcha do and not, try to track me down to have me take a call.

Or maybe I'm just too ready to not be here anymore that I have zero patience for anyone or anything.

As someone who's working as a legal phone monkey this summer, I second the motion.

Fuck that, I used to ask 'em straight up "Could you take me off of speakerphone? It's difficult to hear you."

If I'm on speaker phone I constantly "have a problem" hearing them. Constantly asking them to repeat things and a few "Hello? Hello?" comments and suddenly I'm off speakerphone...

Yup. Solves around 80% of speakerphone calls.

the speaker phone thing drives me nuts... one thing I noticed is when you have two VOIP networks in the call, speaker phone to highly turned up headset tends to create an annoying amount of feedback.
Although a close runner up is the "person whose cell reception sucks" caller

I agree with you speaker phone calls are one of my pet peeves followed by language bariers and out right refusal of a luser to help solve their own issue :/

because the luser can't possibly have a bum shoulder and can't cradle a phone to key the information in.

and of course, the CSRs are very clear and don't have the mike pushed up by their ear.

sure hope I never have to call the OP for tech support. well, I suppose I COULD take the OP off speaker phone, and have him/her repeat themselves 30 times while I try to remember the instructions.

Not everyone can afford a headset and the VoIP is going to get worse, not better.
