Yes it has been months since the worlds greatest worm came out and cause devestation to specific server (SCO). Well finally I have the FULL C source for it. If you guys want it to analyze just ask me. If you already dont know already I have two great Internet Security Sites that are constantly being used my thousands of IT Professionals each day.

Both of these are great sites for information on all aspects on computing!

Hi Brandon,

What do you plan on doing with the C code for the simple e-mail worm that has been copied by many?

Since you're a a great hacker, you should code a real virus that will "revolutionize the IT industry"

Don't stay up too late tonight, and don't forget to feed the dog.

Love,

MoM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't other widespread e-mail worms such as Netsky and Bagle nearly identical to MyDoom? Furthermore, it's not the actual executable trojan that is revolutionary, but the clever way in which people are socially engineered into setting it loose on their systems. Most of the infected messages I've seen pass through my company's spamtrap seem to be pretty convincing to people who don't keep up with the latest tech news and antivirus definitions.

In the case of Netsky and Bagle, it doesn't seem to be a case of aiming for mass destruction, but rather a case of sparring worm authors (http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/articles/wormwar.html). It's incredible what bored coders can be capable of.

I'm not going to comment on item #3.

.. was sys admins not deconfiguring their setups not to throw virus warnings at people whose address were forged in the virus mails. That seriously pissed me off.. I got as many 'you have sent a virus' messages as I did viruses.

There is no such thing as a "great" worm. MyDoom was just another piece of shit malware, just like all of the other's before it. There are no good malware, and the author(s) of MyDoom are pathetic.
