Okay, everybody. OSX has been out since 2002. That's nearly a full decade. It is past time for you to accept the fact that OS 9 is dead. Dead, and buried. Accept it, and move on. Yes, this means you may actually have to retire your 400mhz G4s in favor of something loosely resembling modern hardware.  Sorry, but them's the breaks.

7 years ≠ 10 years

The OP did say "nearly".

And by rules of rounding, 7 is closer to 5 than it is to 10. But I'll admit it's really not important. Probably more likely that I just don't want to admit that we're already almost a decade into this century.

In OS years, 7 years = 1000 years.

7 would round up to 10 because it's over 5, if you're looking at it from like....1-10.

But that last part made me laugh. :)

Tiger wasn't any sweat a-tall for a 400MHz G4. I yoosta have a whole stable of 'em doing production work.

If found it really amusing that as OS X progressed, each new release ran faster on the (same) old hardware.

Classifying 10.0 as an OS is a... bit of a stretch, isn't it?

It was way more stable and robust than MacOS 9. Even the public beta shipped in September 2000 was.

Dude, Nicol Richie and Paris Hilton are more stable and robust than OS9.

There are people currently in padded rooms more stable than OS9.

I'd put Tiger on them, but I really dont see the point in lambasting old but still working hardware.

hell, for web 2.0 stuff and the current gen of software, 10.4 is pushing it as far as actually WORKING with anything.

OS9? I'd give them crap for using Panther without a good reason.
