Whenever I'm trying to save your lab machine that your IT-clueless grad student desperately needs to finish her dissertation, don't tell her that the taken-apart hard drive on your shelf is "just fine" to plug in and back up her stuff. I don't want to have to explain the entire workings of a Winchester drive to someone who only barely passed the TOEFL.
And quit buying OEM hard drives from Outer Mongolia, dammit.
