Date: 2009-03-05 01:56 am (UTC)Not only was that story itself more than a little over the top, I knew I remembered HeliOS from something... something else controversial, and kinda-plausible, kinda-over-the-top questioned by a bunch of people.
A little googling found it: this is the same guy that claimed that some elementary school teacher at some school, neither named, had called Linux a "virus" or some such; and supposedly made all sorts of threats about suing him for ... well, something. It made the front page of Slashdot... and, oddly, the ravening hordes never could manage to figure out what the hell school, or teacher, he was talking about.
