So this is horrific on it's own, but, once I saw the pics with the computer, I thought you guys HAD to see this.

My favorite is the cigarette pile pushed out of the way by the mouse.

I remember when this first hit the internets. It's just unfathomable how anyone could LIVE like that, let alone the way they take care of their computer. If you could even call it that.

The saddest part is that I instantly knew it was in/near Houston from all the different fast food cups (Whataburger, Taco Cabana). Has this person cooked.. ever?

What's amazing here is the clear space by the iron.

the entire rest of the apartment has gone to shit. you can't shower without getting some sort of communicable disease.

but at least the clothes are pressed.

My parents have 6 rental properties. 22 units total.

We see this about once a year.

At least they didn't rip the walls down. We'd rather have this. All it requires is a dumpster, shovel, paint, and cleaners. We've had some where they ripped down the walls. And no way the security deposits covers that.

And good luck getting anything else from them. Usually you can't find them. We did find one once. Sued them for like 25k. Won once the judge saw the photos. Turns out they had just gotten an inheritance. Judge gave us actual and punitive damages.

Safe to say, there's about 1% to 2% of the population who live like this. That means on an average street, there's at least one house that's like this inside.

Most never get discovered until the resident dies or disappears.

Even more amusing are the spray bottles here and there. They have cleaning products. They just haven't ever used them.

been down this road before

i actually had two great aunts that live that way for years. no one had any idea how they lived until they died. thankfully they died and were not buried by their stuff piled to the ceiling. there is a mental illness that causes people to keep everything. my great aunts had news papers from the 1950s were never disposed of.
