There is, quite honestly, nothing I enjoy more on the first beautiful spring day of March, than sitting back in my cube farm supporting users who decided to kill their systems. What's that? Your system is down? How lovely. Are you near it? No? Can you be? Not right now? Well, how long? An hour? And you called me now why?

I understand Bruce Banner...

Gruh, I hate that!  I've had three calls like that over the course of my tech supporting.

"Hi, I just had this one problem, but I'm not near my computer, so lemme call you back."

*blink*.  Pointless!

I've only been doing this since October.  :)

My favorite is when I used to get calls from users on their cell phone who were driving, and they would ask if I would walk them through setting up something on their machine - and then were quite annoyed to learn that they actually had to be in front of their machine, because sitting still would of course slow down their productivity. And of course, these were sales people - the most loathsome beasts in the business.

oh, so true so true. I always secretly hoped that those people would, like, rear-end somebody at a stop light while on the phone with me at tech support, just to show 'em they should WAIT TIL THEY GET HOME before calling.

Even worse is when they expect you to wait while they travel to the actual location of the computer, power it up, etc...

Ah imagine going into work at 9am and not leaving until 8pm and your entire floor, heck the first 6 floors, don't have windows.

I heard it was raining outside but I won't know for more than another hour.

LOL! Once in a while it's nice...only when the weather is icky...but when you KNOW it's nice outside, you can't help but *cough cough* get sick and go home.
