[identity profile] brinoceros.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] techrecovery
Hi everyone,

I really hope this is not an inappropriate place for this. Do any of you want a job doing front-end development in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City)? Or maybe you have friends who are looking for a job? To be totally straightforward, I work for a search firm and I'm having trouble finding people who want to develop web applications. So I hate to resort to sending out messages to people I don't know, but it really might be a good opportunity for some of you. Someone with experience working at a web company and a technical degree from a decent school would be best (LAMP or demonstrated knowledge of AJAX, Javascript preferred). Let me know, email would be best (profrink12@yahoo.com).

Really sorry if this is just a bothersome message to you all. My company does pay a referral bonus though, of at least $500 if you put us in contact with someone who gets placed in the position. I'm not trying to mess with anyone; just trying to help somebody who is looking for a new job. I would never spam messages to people; I hope that's not how this is interpreted.

Thanks.
- Brian

Try Craig's list. This is probably not the best place for you, and some readers (I assume) don't want this kind of thing.
Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though, anyone in charge.

[livejournal.com profile] techsupport_ot is meant for posts like this. It's part of the reason why we have an OT community.

Death threats only once he defends posting in entirely the wrong community when the right one is smack bang on this one's userinfo.

Hmmmmm.....

Hard call to make. It's right on the border of outright advertising, however, there's a healthy amount of grovelling, and the OP doesn't sound lie an asshole.

I guess I'll let it slide, for now.

But yeah, [livejournal.com profile] techsupport_ot is where this probably should be posted.

On the plus side, it's a potential hookup for a job in a bum market in a proper field. I'd say that pretty well overrides any unsuitability that might be found.

No, it doesn't. It really doesn't. Especially as it's a development job, and this is a forum mainly for support people (hence the name).

But even if it were a tech support role, it would still be unsuitable.

If you're legit, this is borderline.

If you're legit, I'd seriously consider finding a better email address than a Simpsons reference at Yahoo ... and using MySpace as your web page.

Your profile indicates you're still a student, apparently? So is this a side gig, or ... ?

It's got the same bait all the other Tech Jobs have...

It's not, "So, computers, eh? That means you can TYPE, right?"

And then... Then is the downward slide to mere Office Clerk. One of the Unwashed Masses that causes the problems that those great Men and Women of the Industry, THE COMPUTER TECHS must fix.

Well, actually, it's Management that causes the most problems, but it's the staff that complain the most.

Grovelling is no substitute for intelligence. I wouldn't want to work for an idiot who couldn't find the correct place to post his ad when it's listed in the fucking user info.

I think you'd get a better response if you posted a photo of yourself along with your want ad here. Anything that stops you posting where you plainly don't belong.

In other news, what's the fucking problem with you people? This cretin cannot read. That doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt, it deserves mockery. Dear gød, has someone dumped uppers into the water supply again?

I didn't take any of the rum. Shoot, haven't had any in the house since the last bender involving dumping most of a liter bottle of coke into the rum bottle and drinking the mix stright from it.

*reminds self to buy more rum whilst shopping today*

Managed to snag the last bottle during my shopping expedition today, along with a bottle of my standard Capt. Morgan, only in 100 proof.

Also found that Stone has a Double Bastard Ale- Should be damn tasty.
