Twenty minutes. Talking someone. Through copy and paste.

"I'm good at the basics of IT, but not so much at this complicated stuff."

'Basics'. You keep using that word; I do not think it means what you think it means.

Said teacher has also required me to show him the location of the power button. Three times so far.

I was once told off by a user for "being too technical". I'd asked him to click on "File".

I feel your pain. It once took me several hours to talk my parents through a plug'n'play printer install.

Why, yes, I still have nightmares over that.

Having used Notes, I could believe that they didn't understand email when it was written.

At one job, I used to take immeasurable joy in referring people back to their instruction sheet, and when they complained they were too technical I could say "We have tested this on six-year-olds, who were able to follow it perfectly. If you keep having 'problems' with it, we can sit around a table with your manager and have a long chat about hiring policy."

That post makes me want to cry. You have my sympathies.

To the client who doesn't understand WTF 'cut and paste' is:

Why is my $50 5 year old pocket pc better than your $500 iphone?

I can cut and paste, you can't.
