I swear to Cthulhu... I can't make shit up like this... I swear. Recap: Helldesk at a hospital.

Dear user who just called,

Network password resets are supposed to be easy. Super easy. You broke my brain severely with this one.

Password is spelled p a s s w o r d. Yes, there really are two s's in password. Do you see the word Password right next to the field where you type it in? Just. Like. THAT. Telling me I'm entering it wrong is not a good way to get on my good side. I re-entered it three times on your request. On my screen, the number of asterisks that show up when I reset passwords is correct. Yours? Still missing that damned S. And no, there's nothing wrong with your keyboard, because your username has an S in it.

After five minutes, I gave up on your ability to reason like a functional human being, so I typed it in for you (thank goodness for remote-control software)... oh look, no issues there! And then you attempted to reset your password yourself... what a disaster.

You had to get a coworker to assist you, because you didn't want me, a lowly Helldesk peon who really has no wish to be mistaken for log in as you, to know whatever crackhead password you were feebly failing attempting to type in. I weep for your coworkers.

I think it's time for you to rethink that Secretary position you're in. Thank you.

Sincerely,
The Helldesk girl who's going home to get 'faced on Yeungling. Because of you.

EDIT: Dear Mods of [livejournal.com profile] techsupport,

There is not a flame war going on in the comments of this post. Mostly, it's concerned with drinking and WoW. <3

...I love this community. ::hugs to all::

Thank you!
The Helldesk girl with the WoW (Druid) Addiction, who's still getting drunk tonight.

Our HR system has a separate username and password apart from the usual network login. It consists of a 5-digit associate ID and the user's birthdate in MMDDYYYY format.

You would think they'd remember their own fucking birthdate, but no.

I once had someone ask me if they needed to capitalize the numbers...

The one time I was asked that, I answered "No" by reflex. I'm glad I did because I realized if I didn't, they'd have used the shift key and gotten !@#$%^&* as a password...

I'll gladly make beer recs. Some others amongst us will gladly suggest what firearm you should take to the range, but preferably only one of these at a time. That's what we're here for. :)

The reason we don't drink the beers you find in most stores is because they are made with cereal adjuncts - corn, rice, etc. Beer should be made with barley, hops, yeast, and water. You can put other stuff in, but that is the base of any good beer.

Budweiser, Coors, pretty much every major beer in America (with the notable exception of Sam Adams) has some degree of "filler" in it. For that reason that's my standby should nothing more interesting be on tap.

If you can find it, pick up some Unibroue [I think they call it Unibrew] in the states. I'm rather fond of their Maudite beer.

LOL....I used to use that to describe drinking Guinness. It wasn't because it actually had cereal products in it, but because it was so very yeasty and dense, it was like drinking food.

Not sure of the veracity of this, but I read somewhere that some of the heavier beers were brewed that way in order to provide some measure of nutrition during winter in monasteries, and also at times when the monks were allowed to drink but not eat.

I have a 70 NE Druid I haven't played in a long while. Haven't raided with that character since pre-Burning Crusade. I'm doing the same thing you are - I have a 46 Tauren Druid (wanted to relearn how to play my Druid from the ground up after ~8 months' hiatus) I've been working on.

Honestly, if you're a novice beer drinker, with all due respect to the suggestion, I wouldn't try an IPA yet. They are VERY hoppy which is an astringent, bitter flavor. The darker beers mentioned (Turbodog, Guinness) are very malty, which is the opposite end of the spectrum.

I learned my favorite beers doing the UFO club at the Flying Saucer, where Mondays (at my location) you can get almost any beer on tap for $2.75. The Saucer is a chain, so you may have one near you, but most 'beer garden' type places have similar options. Or if you have a gourmet grocery, they frequently let you build your own sixpack of tasters. :)

And, for a good, mid-darkness, smooth, balanced beer, there really isn't much better than a Shiner Bock. Dos Equis Amber is a good option, too. (I'm not sure how available Shiner is outside of Texas)

Damn I love beer.

haha-- I am currently enjoying a Shiner Leight. I'm also a big fan of the Black, Heffe, and 98 (which I think is off shelves now).

I live in San Antonio, so all of these delicious varieties are available in refrigerated 12 packs at my local HEB. It's pretty much the best thing about living here (also being .8 miles from the Flying Saucer)

Hell, that might be worth a road trip for.

Now, if the [livejournal.com profile] guns community picks Texas for their meetup next year, that might be worth it... Hmmm..... *grins evily*

Late to the party, but I think I've made that cake, but with Guinness. :)

Does your recipe involved currants? The one I had did, but I used raspberries instead. Is very, very good.

The entire Abita line is pretty good, though my favorite Lousiana beer is Dixie's Blackened Voodoo...
