Dear luser,

Writing on my facebook wall with a technical support question is REALLY lame.

1) I don't do tech support anymore. That's for %cow-orkers{J,P,G} to handle

2) Facebook is not the place to do it. Facebook is my personal time. As much as I think you're actually a nice person (in general), this breach of etiquette really pisses me off.

3) We have a ticketing system for things like this. FARKING USE IT.

You're actually friends with this person on FB? If not, you definitely need to make your profile private. If you are, and for some reason want to stay friends with this person, definitely put them on the "limited profile" list so he can't write on your wall.

P.S. Totally agree he should not be using FB as a means to ask tech support questions.

I'd have a discussion with their supervisor (and/or yours as well) about whay the ticketing systems is there, and how circumventing said system is a bad practice.

You should also reply to it with a formal "We do not accept tickets through facebook. Please use the proper ticketing system." in 3ft. high red blinking letters.

Any advice that you give them in a personal manner is not a work activity, and, ergo, you can't get in trouble for it, as long as you don't give that advice on company time.

Just sayin'...

Actually, that's reprehensible behaviour and needs to be stopped now!

With the fist of death. No, it really is an appropriate tool for this.

Send email to them, and both your manager's calling them for inappropriate behaviour.
hmmmm fisty fisty goodness.
