If when you call in for technical support, and I have to repeat to you 17 times to unplug the power cables from both the router and the modem, while trying to understand your broken english and veitnamese accent, perhaps you should find someone a bit more capable, and competent to do your troubleshooting for you.

However, handing me off to your daughter, your wife, back to your daughter, and then back to you... while the former few spoke worse english than you did, is not going to help us get anything done.

Please.. if you are going to call an english speaking tech support number... learn the gorram language.

With no love.

Your technical support representative.

Heresy!

You speak words that imply someone should bother integrating with the society they've chosen to join...

ya know...

I wonder if all those Indian and eastern asian call center employees say the same thing about us Westerners...

yeah, how dare we use services that just happen to have call centres in india when we can't speak their language!

To play Devil's advocate

Does your company provide support in any other languages that they could have called for instead of english?
Did they know enough english that they might be in the process of learning it?

Here's hoping you never have to live in another country whose language you're learning, and ask for techsupport there, eh?

(I know some techie French, for example, but don't ask me what a router or cable is - but I can buy things in the shop and order meals with no problem)

That's nice that you don't have to encompass the challenge of living in another country that uses another language, isn't it? Not everyone is that fortunate.

As for not knowing one's arse from a hole in the ground, yep, that's what this comm is all about.
