Does anyone find it funny that when you are selling older equipment to the office that they except you to include all software (OS, Office, etc), and when you tell them that the equipment is to be sold completely stripped ie no OS, no nothing, they get pissed at you? I guess the fact that it's company policy that equipment is to be sold/donated with no image/os on it and I could loose my job for not following the guidelines don't matter to people. But hey I was offered oral sex for an OS...now that's an IT first! lol

We used to sell outdated equipment to staff. That got disuaded when we got the same response as you did. "What? no operating system? How can i download pr0n, pirate M$ programs???" so we stopped that.
We've thought about selling our outdated macs to staff, as we can legally give them the software that they came with. but even then, we got calls weeks after selling a machine, about what software to use, how to plug in printers, argh!
so now we donate them to charites. Much better karma value all round.

We sold some equipment a few years back and we got alot of calls from people on how to install certain programs (aol), why something in office didn't work right, etc. I also have people asking me "so what do you think of this computer. Would you buy it? Which ones are the good ones?"
