YOUR CABLE MODEM.

RESET IT.

It's not that hard. Honestly. I can get a 5 year old to do it. You people have licenses to drive and college degrees.

That's fantastic. I might have to catch up on the last however many series I haven't watched, or just that one ep.

I caught the tail end of that episode last night, and just about died laughing.

Unplug.

Plug.

Shazam!

The older you get, the less you listen to instructions.

Or if you're a typical Mac user, you're born that way.

On the other hand, I'm sure our children (those who have them) look at us sometimes and go "damn, and you're the provider?"

Silly old fools :P

Having a license to drive is no indication of skill or intelligence.

The college degrees are what make people difficult. It teaches them to "think" (er...rather, question every instruction they're given) rather than do what they're told.

*ded*

That's the first thing I do when the internet goes out. Unplug the damned thing, then plug it back in. If that doesn't work, I unplug the hub, the router, then the modem, then plug everything back in the same order.

If it's still not working, I change out the cable (I have a bunch of cables that are only used for that purpose). Reboot.

If it's still not working, I call my ISP... and get bumped up to Tier 2 support. ;) Good times.
