Last I checked, you listen with your ears. Not your eyes, and not your mouth.

So when I say "Listen for the voice to start speaking, and when she does, press 1-1." that means you CLOSE YOUR MOUTH and OPEN YOUR EARS and WAIT for the VOICE. To. Start. Speaking. I don't care what it shows on your screen, and your verbal diarrhea is likely to cause you to miss hearing the voice so we have to start all over again. Which is not as simple as it sounds, since when you call the over-the-air programming line and don't complete your transaction, we then usually have to wait for your phone to reset.

I know it's minor suck, but it happens ALL. THE. TIME. I've gone so far as to say "ignore what's on your screen" but honestly that makes them even MORE likely to look at it!!!

god, I know what you mean. I frequently deal with people who I've solved their problem before they've finished their second sentence. I start walking them through the fix but the won't SHUT UP! "I wanna tell you the entire story of my life because I think that's relevant to the problem!" No sir...no it's not...
