Fuck. Now I'm just pissed off. I get thrown a ticket because the owner of said ticket hasn't done anything on it in 2 weeks. There's an email from the user asking for an update on the 11th and no response whatsoever. It's not like it's a difficult problem or anything either. So now I get to deal with a pissed off user due to no fault of my own and it makes me look bad because I have to clean up someone else's mess. I fucking hate lazy people, especially when they make my life more difficult.

I had a case last week which had gone on for a month and had one update weeks ago. So i looked into it, and realised that the idiot who had the case for the entire time only put notes from a *different customer* (not user, a completely different company), not for this case. I resolved it within a day of finding it, getting annoyed and taking it.

no. absolutely not. *You* do not look bad. You actually look good, as to the user, it's taking initiative and getting their problem resolved.

Your team, however, will look bad and that lazy incompetent, more so.
