Most people, when drinking Gin for 5 hours and being near an internet connection, decide to post shit all other the internet and MSN embarrasing themselves in earnest. Then dealing with it the next day, head held in shame.

I, however, decided implementing an SMTP gateway between my Exchange box and the internet remotely, from home was an excellent idea.

And I actually did it right. It works! So far.... I may find out tomorrow that it's actually fucked.

At least I decided to stop before I changed the IP address range of all the servers and DHCP scope in the company..... Remotely...... over RDP.....

Is there such a thing as "too geeky"?

I decided against going back to the patching after three and a half glasses of wine the other night. I suspect it was a wise decision.

I was assured of my techie credentials, however, when I could still, while under the influence (I don't generally drink so three and a half glasses is quite a lot) work out the extemely complicated multi-area entertainment system multiplexer device sufficiently to put the football on the projector for the execs.

I'm a lot more drunk on the GIN now, so I'm currently banking on Virus Wall's ability to be secure-ish by default.

I tried to relay it, andd had difficulty... but the GINmay be hazing my abilities.

Checked it all today and everything is perfect.

The only thing I did was turn on a thing that emails the users each tim they had spam blocked, generating just as much mail but from Administrator.

Turned that off and all is groovy.
