I just got off a call...

No lights on her HomePortal and she was just happily surfing and checking her email not 2 hours ago.

So... I asked her to verify powersupply is plugged in... she tells me her HomePortal is plugged into her computer... um... huh?
I have her tell me what's plugged into the back of it... power cord is missing. I advise to look behind the desk or whatever and find the cord and plug it back in.

Simple... right?

No.

Y'see.. apparently, she hasn't touched anything and she's been the only one at her house. There's no way that could have anything to do with her problem.
In fact, she's insisting that is not the issue.

Wow... So we're doing wireless electrical powersupplies, too?!

Not!

I think I've hit a new low over here...

LOL. I would to think you had but I did Customer Service here and we got all the winners. You try telling an SBC rep that never have and never will take an order for new equipment.

If you see the rogue girl in a wheelchair you've found me. You said HomePortal and that's almost a dead give away that you work at 2wire to me.

No offense but I don't recognize you. Come by and introduce yourself sometime. I'm easy to spot. ;)

2wire homeportals are ok if you know what you're doing AND if you aren't using their friggen PC port phoneline networking garbage.

However, I've had to support them here (though thankfully that support ends early next year) and they are complete hell to support.

Hmmmm...Homeportals..ok for the beginner, great for the person that is just gonna plug it in and expect it to work...

Grrrr......money, need more money..now that's low..

Then again, I just got off the call, person complaining that their password didn't work today, when it did yesterday, because of a change we made to our website last week...
too bad they were using their email password instead of the one they setup for our site 2 years ago.. 10 minutes to figure that out.

I see, I was a Tier 3 for MSN for awhile, and we're in..dun dun dun, Salt Lake City, UT. So if you ever talk to MSN Tier 3, they're only in Utah:P

When I worked at ELNK, I felt the same way. I hated the freakin thing!! But after working here...I finally realized why I had hated it before. We were told little to NOTHING about it and then told to tech it. It's UI is very different from other routers, so it wasn't easy to figure out as well. That, and HPNA was fairly new...

Now that I'm here, these are the EASIEST POSes (as you put it) to work with and they can do some pretty fucking cool shit!! 'Course, it took me a year to find out all the shit it can do too...
