I downloaded Copilot 5.3 to my palm zire 21. I'm trying
to download the waypoints for ontrio and Quebec. Soi far I just get
error messages.
Can you help?

I must have left my "read your error messages by telepathy" device in my other pants.

Response: "With the amount of information given, the only help I can offer is this: It's spelled Ontario."

Tell him/her to walk into the Emergency Room at any hospital and tell the admission people "I'm sick. Fix it!" and then not tell them anything else and see what they do.

I'd probably have better luck doing that than telling them what the problem actually IS. Seriously, I go in bitching about my knee, I get a prescription for allergy pills so I might well skip straight to the "fix whatever they want to fix" part and save myself some time.

My favorite kind of teching. When you have to use telepathy to get the problem solved. *sigh* The amazement at peoples stupidity never ends.

Ha! This is like a case I received yesterday "IBM PC in Dr. so-and-so's lab has lost internet connection. Please fix"

Yeah, I'll get right on that because my telepathy extends to MAC addresses/IP addresses/host names.

The best part? The person who created the ticket has the title "PC Systems Analyst".

GAH!

Didn't you hear? We are the experts of all things ever. The user should never have to say what the problem is; only that there is a problem. You should be able to figure the rest out by yourself. Go on now! Start fixing problems, monkey boy!

I had the same thing happen to me today, Condensed version:

My friend M: Hello this is helltech how can I help you?
Luser: My message didn't go through
M: Ok, can you redo that message and send it out again to see if that error pops up?
Luser: It's not in there why don't you fix it!!!!ARG!!!!1111
*CliCK!*
M: GAH!

Me: Hello this is helltech how can I help you?
Luser: My message didn't go through and someone was helping me but disconnected
Me: (Reading notes about Batshit insane lady) ok, can you give me addy of the person you sent it to and I'll see if it went out. (Didn't go out) ok, can you create that message and sends it out
After minutes with lady playing dumbroll message goes through
Luser: So, what now? Something is going to go wrong later....
Me: From this point I can't troubleshoot unless I know what the error was, so next time could you please WRITE DOWN what you saw?
Luser: (Huff) Fine, ok bye!

You do CoPilot support? Is that CoPilot as in ALK's sat-nav software?

Ahh. I didn't think there was a version of ALK's CoPilot for Palm.

(I used to work for the outsourcing company that does ALK's European support, albeit for another client. One of my friends does their Dutch support.)

Sorry, with the last round of "cost saving measures," they eliminated our crystal balls and Tarot cards from the budget...
