I always laugh when I see the "get the 9 year old child to configure your email" gag. Mostly because it actually works.
Many years ago there was an article... somewhere. Don't remember. Anywho, the point of it is that yes, small children actually ARE better at using computers. Because they know how to follow simple directions. Telling an adult to double click the icon that says internet explorer can somehow magically get transformed into, well, you know. But most children tend to ACTUALLY DO IT. They actually look at the screen instead of the football game, and don't make judgement calls on what to click.
There are still ADD kids around, but they're much worse then your average idjit.
I think that it's more because they are growing up with the technology and don't have the same kind of "omg new and unfamiliar stuff i can't do this!" holdbacks that older users do.
A person's biggest impediment in accomplishing ANY given task is themselves.
His LJ seems to be a forum to tell random people where to go. His posts here are similar. I doubt we'll have long to wait, should he continue replying.
