...as in:

It's "nacho job" to try to repair the PC (and making things worse in the process).

It's "nacho job" to make snide comments indicating that IT cannot fix the error in a timely manner when the real problem is that you failed to do a dry run prior to starting your fancy schmancy course in (get this) "Civility at company$."

It's "nacho job" to tell me your kid's in school "for IT", especially when the reason is because you disagree with something I just said..  S/he doesn't work for me, or my boss.  I started work in this field BEFORE s/he was born, and when s/he graduates s/he will be at the point in their career that I was in two DECADES ago.

Enough already!

My week in a nutshell

Dear lab members,

It is nacho job to change the "Regions & Language" settings on the PC in an attempt to make everything appear in Chinese and then not change it back. It is also nacho job to "helpfully" turn on automatic DHCP on the shared printer, thus wiping its static IP and making it unavailable on the network.

I hate you all,
Me

Ooo! Or reconfigure MSOffice on multiple computers so it spellchecks everything in Spanish and leave it so the next 15 people come back yelling about their poor English grades on the papers they checked using those computers.

It's an excellent prank to pull, but not funny when you're the one fixing it. XD *snicker*

ooo, one of our developers just gave me a good one...

it's nacho job to decide how the network works. if we tell you to disjoin a VM from the network before bringing it up on another machine, do it. don't come crying to us that your original copy doesn't work anymore because we've told you time and time again that you need to disjoin it from the network before transporting it elsewhere...

friggin lusers can't follow a simple set of instructions and these are the people writing some of the software this company manages to survive on. *grumble*

It's people like that that make me want to "helpfully adjust" GPO to increase password complexity/length requirements, lengthen password history, and shorten change frequency...

It's nacho job to ignore my explanation of what is causing your computer to be blocked from our network, tell me my solution won't work and then try your own "solution" and then complain that your connection is still borked.

It is your job, howe'er, to grovel in abject humility when my original solution works like a charm ;)

OT

I hereby vote for 'Nacho Job' to become an occasionally regularly featured topic here, a la 'Porn Friday'!
