Generally, it goes something like "Ok, click on Network Connections.. No, not Internet Options, no, not Connections, go back! Whaddya mean, you can't.. Where the heck are you now? No, close Outlook... Agh! Ok, penalty, close everything shut down and restart the computer, do-you-mind-if-i-put-you-on-hold-*BOOP!*"

I once had a total prick of a customer who gave one of our junior techs a really hard time (and really unwarrented since the jr tech was a great tech) reinstall a ton of software which took them about 2 hours and numerous callbacks to fix something that could have been fixed with a simple configuation change :)

i usually do the penalty hold during the penalty reboot.
they never see it coming, just bam!! .. i throw in the penalties.
