A collegue of mine, Nigel, had an interesting call yesterday:

I actually got a call from a guy reporting an O#### cable down in the area in the night.

The guy said "umm yeah some guy has run into a heap of stuff with a tanker and damaged some T**** mobile satelite dishes and knocked down some telegraph poles with an O#### cable attached to it"....................

I thought he said "tanker" (like a truck or whatever) but what he really meant was "TANK" .................

FTW! That's better then my logging truck call that required the phrase "We have to wait for the weather to clear so that we can land the helicopter".

That's ...different! I suppose we should all be grateful the thing didn't have ammo in it.

Well, one person can't drive and shoot a tank at the same time. (No matter what you can do in Battlefield 1942, you can't do it! The controls for each are in two very different places!).

Although, ya, very lucky indeed that he didn't stop, move to the turret, and start unloading.

Of course, how do you set up a roadblock for a Tracked Vechicle like that?

AFAIK the turret weapons on this particualar vehicle were non-functional replicas.

I love doing that in GTA.

I want a tank to drive to work, not into or through work, just to work as that would get my tanky removed from me and me put in a small cage.... it would be good for days when I'm due pay raises and shift bids.... ;)

That was just an APC. About 12 years ago a guy in San Diego stole an actual Main Battle Tank, a 54-ton M-60 Patton, and drove around the city, running over cars and traffic lights and shredding RV's like they were made of paper. The police were totally helpless and only managed to stop the guy when he got on the freeway, tried to cross into oncoming traffic and got stuck on the center divider.

It was a hellova thing to watch live.
