TAC woman: No ma'am you can't accidently port your number.... it's a long proccess ma'am and you'd have to call another phone company and tell them you wanted to port your number... Verizon... landline... *puts customer on mute* Son of a bitch, someone DID manage to accidently port their number! They wanted to exchange their CELLPHONE number and thought that's what they meant by "port."


Conversation over heard in CS:
CSR: You don't want to pay for the service?... So you wish to disco then?... Well ma'am that is really your only two options.... no, we don't offer our movie packs for free... I'll send you to disconnects then.

When I don't quite know their exact terminology for something, I tend to repeat myself in various different phrasings just to avoid things like this. Yes, it can annoy the rep, but it makes it very unlikely that I will make a stupid terminology based mistake.

How did I put that once with a billing issue: "You can pay for our service, or you can do without? ... ... ... Oh, you don't want to hear that answer? Well, there's a third one for you, but if I tell it to you, it's non-reversable. ... Go with it anyway? OK. I have hereby cancelled all your services, and noted that you are refusing to make any payments altogether. When this finishes processing, you bill will be transfered to a Collection Agency who will send Repo Men to get the money owed us, as well as our equipment. Any damage to our equipment will be tacked onto the amount owed, and will result in another visit by the same Collection Agency. This has now been processed, and, as you are no longer a customer of ours and cannot become a new one, I must request you hang up so that I can assist other people who are current or future customers."
