I have come to the conclusion that my company really needs to add a new benefit to our package...

HEARING AIDS!!!!

I swear, I have never had to support so  many deaf assed people in my life!  It's either they can't hear or I have learned how to speak something other than english when I am thinking I am speaking in english.

Never has the word HUH been uttered in my ear as much as it has been since I started working here.  I know it's not the way I speak because my vendors hear and understand me fine.....

This only makes it harder for me to help then in addition to the normal stupidity that reigns in retail...

I'm pretty sure that merely shows a lack of effort on the part of the listener to THINK about what the person at the other end is SAYING. I think they call the Helpdesk fully expecting to be able to go "my thing broke" and we fix it without having to say anything to them or ask them any further questions.

It makes me want to kill them and use their entrails as a fancy border for my wainscoting.

= )

Nah nah nah.

Slice 'em open and use the entrails to predict the future.

Well, they're about as smart as your average chicken, aren't they?

My father loves to bleat "HUNH???" at anyone and everyone because he can't hear (because he won't get a goddamn hearing aid) so I don't say that word. I'll say "Hm?" or "Can you please repeat that for me?" I think [livejournal.com profile] xforge got it right, though. Chances are it's not that they can't hear you, it's that they don't actually want to do any thinking.

The problem is that you're speaking in English, but they're listening in Confusion.
