So i work for a small ISP which supplies wireless broadband connections to remote areas which can not get DSL.

So i was answering the phones and i get a call from an asian woman that went like this.

Her: *Sobbing* You have to help me.
Me: Ok what is the problem.
Her: I need to get rid of all the porn.
Me: Ok how do you mean.
Her: Well i want all the porn blocked. They do it at the school where i work why can't you do it for us.
Me: Ok thats not possible. We can't do that because of the Freedom acts which are in place.
Her: *Sobbing even louder* Why wont you help me. I think my son is gay and i want to block all the gay porn.
Me: Ok you can get a program that is know as net nanny that will allow you to do this.
Her: OK so i get this program and it block all gay porn. I don't mind the female porn that is ok.
Me: Yes thats what you will be able to do.
Her: OK i am going to look at it. Bye.

So she thinks her son is gay and he likes to look at gay porn. Does she think he wont be gay if he isn't looking at the porn? Two hours later she called back and spoke with someone on the other side of the room saying no one would help her get rid of the gay porn.

I was just stating the facts of the call. Don't get me wron i am not racist or anything. I just found the broken english made it a different kinda call.

Being a homo myself, I can assure her that he will find it elsewhere or get wise to how to get around the software. (We all know most novice users use easy passwords like BDays, pet names, etc.)

Also being gay, I can really feel for this guy cause it is hard enough dealig with that and societal issues around it but even worse when you have to hide it from the very people you have spent the early part of your life with.

I will give you an opposite problem.

Try being gay and having your family *so* ok with it that your father is nagging you that you don't date enough (only child too) and that your father and step-mother are always wanting you to "bring someone with you" whenever you come visit.

Not that I would ever wish for the other side of the card, but it is quite surreal.

I'd probably have been looking up a family counseling center and give her the number. He could just be curious, and if it's not just that, she just needs some help dealing with it. After a while you realize it's pretty cool having a member of The Fabulous in the family. (Well, if you and he can overcome all the self-esteem issues. I know it's actually more complicated than that.)
