Mar. 22nd, 2007 04:23 pmVista sucks.
I warned you vista sucks
I told you to order a computer either online or by calling the manufacturer so you could get XP.
You went to big box retailer
You got Vista
DO NOT demand that I come over and show you how the computer works, make your 5 year old printer without vista drivers run, and configure the desktop to 'look like my old one' for free, because "You told me to get this Vista thingy"
I will laugh at you, and I will show you the invoice where I tell you you should try to get a computer with XP.

This person's isuses was a combination of both.

Date: 2007-03-22 11:17 pm (UTC)And actually it'd be around that. Figuring a full format before install and installing all the software that came with the computer, so about a hour and a half, it'd be $177 for her (including visit fee)

Date: 2007-03-23 02:03 am (UTC)I think it shows a lot of promise, even more so than XP did when it first came out. But as it stands right now, we've told most people to come back to us in 6 months and ask us then. As with all major revisions, there are some bugs to iron out.
I've been running it for months stabily on my machine as a dual boot. I have shut off UAC and I'm happy with most of what it cando

Date: 2007-03-23 03:37 am (UTC)However, you have to understand that I have about 100 users who are going to go absolutely BATSHIT crazy when I get forced to roll it out, because they *really* don't like change. Not to mention, not a single application we use on a daily basis works (or works correctly) with it. Maybe down the line I'll change my tune or when the administration decides to upgrade all of these craptastic old apps, but right now, Microsoft can suck it...at least on my work PC.
