As I have previously mentioned, I work for Realtor.com in Scottsdale. While we normally don't observe Daylight Savings here, our call center's hours do to accomidate the rest of the world.

The only catch 22? Some genius forgot to reset the security for our doors and phone lines. No one was able to get in this morning until a manager with special privs could open the door. There is no incoming calls and anyone calling will recieve the after hours message.

I always said this job would be great without the freekin customers. This proves my point!

i'm addicted to realtor.com. i know that's a strange thing to be addicted to. but for some reason i'm really interested to know what kind of house you can get for what kind of money in which area. :P

tell your devs we need a checkbox for "has fenced in yard." :D

i'm not sure if all the MLS data has that but it's definately something i wished i could filter on :)

Also, how come some descriptions have a short link to the property displayed and some dont? you can make your own by picking apart your querystring, so it's not like it's a big secret ;)

(sorry. i'm not trying to make you do techsupport in the community where you go to bitch about having to do tech support. but i do use your site quite a bit, so i'm just curious ;)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does that sort of thing!

A $300,000 house in San Diego CA.. You mean a 1-bedroom shack on the downwind border of the city dump? ;P

Amusingly enough, I just got off the "morning all-manager tech call" for $big_friggin_bank and the biggest issue was that some brain surgeon applied the DST patch to all of the servers in AZ, throwing off the timezones. I don't GET that, AZ has its own time zone, but whatever

It made me laugh

Ayup.... it's nice to not have to worry about changing our clocks. Just wake up early and to the rest of the world it's a lot later ;)

I think all of Indiana has DST now. Before it was county by county. So we and HI are the only two states (I think) that don't do the DST thing.

Yeah, I used to live in AZ (I refer to it as the Old Country)

I'm just amazed that it happened. Like... how did the patch even affect the servers, unless the timezone info was jacked, either before the patch, or updated during the patch.

This place amazes me sometimes.

I work for a local software developer. Our guys? Forgot to patch. It was havoc when we all got to work today. I didn't feel so bad once I started calling clients, though. I got a lot of after hours messages at 9:30AM, telling me that they don't open til 9.

Last I checked my computer at work was still trying to decide which time it is. It randomly resyncs between a few different times. All are an hour apart.

I love not being in the IT dept any more, its somebody else's problem this time.
