A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a poster in this comm mentioned a website/company that custom designs insanely expensive computers. The story was that they had a friend/coworker who needed a high powered machine to run mathematical software at home, but was also looking for a really gorgeous case. He directed her to Company X, who built her an $8000 machine and then gave it a custom hand paint job.

I have been trying to track down this company recently, but my Google-fu has totally failed me. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or remember the post?


EDIT: Mystery solved - it's Falcon Northwest.

It's not ringing bells, but I remember that Falcon Northwest specialise in top spec machines and custom paintjobs, and have made a lot of the airbrushed demo boxes you see running at games shows.
