Without getting into a debate about the merits of various operating systems and
who has more security holes *coughcoughWINDOWScoughcough*...

While typing a document in MS Word, I discovered that the MS dictionary does
not contain "vulnerabilities". I thought I was going nuts because not only was
there a red squiggle under it, the dictionary had no suggestions.

I eventually had to turn to an *Apple* application to verify my spelling was
correct.

"Vulnerabilities" is not a word Microsoft people want to know. :]

They can always say "Microsoft is double-plus ungood" but they will lack the lexicon to explain why.

Strange... my version of Word had it (YES I had to go check that immediately!). Still, Word does have a very strange dictionary at times - email, webpage, website... all of those words have given me problems.

I think the version we run at work has had crazy updated dictionaries added to it, though. It sure would be great if ANY of the users would use them before sending an email, though.


Edit: HA! Out of habit, I did check my spelling before posting, and even Livejournal doesn't like webpage as one word!

Hells yeah. I type "define: rediculus" into the little google-search textbox on the toolbar (< @ Firefox), and google tells me how much of a nub I am.

Yeah. I actually use that a lot for various purposes (I'm a technical writer by job title). I've found that it can be kinda tricky if you don't have the spelling close enough. I also don't like opening new tabs/windows if I don't have to. blah blah blah. If iChat is open, then I'll take advantage. Oh the perils of being slightly ysdexlic.
