Hmm, my Cat does like to lie on my keyboard, particularly when I am trying to play Sims. If you do find out how to disable this feature on a Cat without damage to said Cat, please let me know!

Whiskey. Tango. Foxtrot.

You *used* to be able to disable the onboard trackpad when laptops still had PS/2 ports, so that if you had a PS/2 mouse plugged in the trackpad would shut off.

Not any more, though, although you *might* be able to pull that off using something in the OS at this stage.

Dell laps typically have the trackpoint and the touchpad in series so if one goes they both go.

I strongly prefer the nipple to the touchpad. (I just learned the official term for the nipple on Thinkpads is "TrackPoint")

Some of the newer Dells have an option in the trackpad's settings to automatically disable it when a USB mouse is plugged in and reenable it when it is unplugged.

Wish I didn't know that from helping my uncle with his Dell

I've discovered that some HP laptops have the ability to switch the trackpad off through a button just above it.

"My trackpad isn't working!"
"See this button here?"
"Yes?..."
"PRESS IT!@#"

Wow, that's pretty easy on a Dell laptop. I've got mine to do just that.

*cat* pad, though???
