I work on a tech support desk for laptop users.

This guy called up because we completed the warranty repairs on his machine, but didnt repair the cracked LCD under warranty.

he couldnt understand why we wouldnt cover under warranty a screen that has damage on it consistent with it being hit, kicked or otherwise compressed in a violent and sudden manner.

he's claiming we did it.

i dont BELIEVE some people.

We had someone like that back when I worked in a computer retail store.

"I'd only placed the laptop on the desk, I hadn't done anything violent with it. It was in a protective carry case, and YOUR laptop you sold me just broke!"

We looked at the screen, and it was fucking annihilated.
It was as if someone had put the fucking thing on the ground, and laid into it with a steel cap boot.

Of course, we made them pay for it.
But the hissyfits they had were insane.

LCD screens just spontaneously implode when you place a laptop on a desk.

But they do, honest.. I only used my laptop on my coffee table and the screen just shattered when my GF tripped on the network cable and sent it falling to the floor, but I only used the laptop on the coffee table.
