Oh man, the memories of calls like this. The confusion, the barely restrained panic, the battle of sensibility vs desperation when you tell them to smack that naughty, filthy keyboard like it deserves...

I had this problem once myself. I promptly opened up a word doc that I had written, highlighted a single space, hit ctrl+c, and then proceeded to finish working on what I was working on, substituting ctrl+v for the space bar. When I was done, I went out and bought a new keyboard.

I was thinking more of just using it to load a space into the clipboard, rather than remapping anything.
