Some people should not be allowed around a delete key. I worked on a girl's computer who she said she was trying to 'clear up space' and managed to fuck her registry; I'm fairly sure she deleted it.

The good thing is I got paid $50 for 20 minutes work and she has Windows back. I gave serious thought to glueing her delete key in place so she wouldn't be a danger to herself or others, but I doubt that would help.

I'm still trying to figure that out. -_-; She was trying to clear space for video files, but how the HELL do you get that far into Windows? @_@

My standard consulting fee for 'simple' problems is 50/hour min 1 hour, for stupidity related problems is 100/hour min 1 hour. For other things sometimes I go as high as 150 but that's pretty rare that I run across a problem that requires real concentraction to fix. I had one customer ask me why he was getting charged 100 bucks an hour. Told him that he should consider it an incentive to read the manual. Cause the answer was on the XX page of the manual and 30 seconds could have saved him 100 buck. Also mentioned that he should consider it both a learning experience and a stupidity tax.
