Why is it customers always want to interupt with yet more questions that you're about to answer while you're in the middle trying to explain things to them??

And to make matters worse, if we try and talk over the customer, quality control here dings you for 'interupting the customer' 9.9

*sighs* ghads cusotmer's are stupid... I hate them... I wish they would all just effing DIE!

Controlling the call.

If the customer starts to rant, just speak over them but in that polite "Hello. This is your technical god speaking, please be with the stop, and the yapping of your noise tube" kinda way.


They start. You stop them.
Easy.

I just talk over them. There's nobody listening to the calls, despite what the announcement at the begining of the call says. Psh.. I mean, sure, if I am the one calling them (i.e., following up on a trouble ticket) then I will not be rude to them, just out of common courtesy. But if they want to call me and bitch at me or try to interrupt me with more of their starfish-esque blather, I just talk over them. Pretend like they never said anything.

Sometimes you just have to be like, Sir, if you keep interrupting me we won't be able to discuss the situation at hand, and at this rate your fucking DSL will never come up.

Well, minus the 'fucking.' But other than that, just tell it to 'em straight. :Þ

Sorry, I didn't specify that I meant where I work, nobody listens. All I can say is, I'm really glad I have no QA Dept.
