You know, the users don't always suck...

Last Thursday, the staff got together and sent a gift basket full of munchies (inlcuding a couple dozen hot Krispy Kreme donuts!), goodies, and a bunch of balloons to the IT department, along with several notes of gratitude.

See, sometimes the peasantry isn't all bad :)

*crosses fingers that we hire our new desktop support person soon so I can focus on being the network admin*

mainly the fact that we've been overworked and understaffed for a few months now. That and we're a church, so people here have a generally higher baseline level of "nice" that you'd otherwise have. This place is unusual in that the peasants here actually LIKE the IT department.

That's one thing that I do like about being an IT monkey: the (occasional) warm fuzzy when some is genuinely happy that you've fixed their stuff and is sincere about it.

At the last place it was very few and very far between, but this place seems to really love their IT support people. Probably the attitude that the place has, methinks.
