Is watching Sesame Street to learn (PS/2) colors a proper troubleshooting step?
These people are in charge of multi-million dollar properties, and can't match purple & green thingies to the holes with matching colors that are plainly seen in back of a computer.
Mind you the case history on this one includes
"User stated that the FDD may be bad. Floppy worked in another computer. User asked for another user's help. flipped floppy disk over and the FDD worked. Had user flip computer over."(CDs were next)
In his own words-
"If they're doing everything I'm telling them, then it's a bad NIC.. I'm pretty sure they're NOT doing everything I'm telling them if I have to repeat the instruction (unplug the phone wire from the back) three times and it still seems to prevent the computer from moving to a known good [network drop] location."

Date: 2006-06-15 04:24 pm (UTC)The really sad part? He teaches business technology, and runs two computer labs of 20+ machines each. HE taught ME computer maintenance. And then he wonders why I get frustrated when he doesn't get simple concepts like WHICH BLOODY PORT THE KEYBOARD GOES INTO. It's not like he DOESN'T KNOW.
